@Mohammad1973: Thank you MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomHow beautiful Rob, I really like the way the light shows the contours of her hair, face and robe. A brilliant shot. 27 Feb 2008 9:54am @MaryB: thanks mary b ;o) @Ron: Thank's @Peter Miller: I thought so too, thanks . e. from New York, NY, United StatesBeautiful lighting on the angel! Great shot. 27 Feb 2008 11:16am @e.: thank you Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesInteresting angel on the angle. Or is that angle on the angel? :-) The warm colors of the marble background adds a nice contrast. Interior church shots are a favorite of mine so I look forward to the series. 27 Feb 2008 1:29pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesWell my man, you have started this series off with a major photo. I can't wait for more. BTW, speaking as a Protestant, I must say that Catholics, Anglicans, and Orthodox have a whole lot more great stuff inside to look at (and photograph). The austere Protestant Calvinist strain has sort of done away with a lot of that extra interior interest and beauty (to our visual impoverishment). Of course, there are exceptions... 27 Feb 2008 2:17pm @Viewfinder: Thanks view , I hope the rest of my shots live up to my opening image ... I have images from now till Easter on both of my blogs starting tommorow . I have been in several newer Catholic Churches that have been more on the modern and duller looking side ... This Church is over 125 years old and still standing strong and has been in a couple movies and tv shows Jrask from Pasadena, United StatesGreat shot, so i'm looking forward to the rest of the series. On my visit to Baltimore, the first thing I noticed was the amount of beautiful churches! 27 Feb 2008 5:13pm Giya from Cincinnati, United StatesAs others have said, I love your choice of angle and lighting. The only critical points I would make is that you could have probably used a bit more DOF here. The far eye of the statue is pretty soft focus. If your trying to soften the background focus a bit, you might try getting two exposures with a different focal point or aperture and then blending them together in Photoshop to get the entire face of the statue in focus. The only other detail is more of a question. I see little pink highlights on the hair and shoulder of the angel. Is this an image processing artifact or did it exist on the statue? It somewhat detracts from the pristine white marble. 27 Feb 2008 9:25pm @Giya: I see what you are saying about the pink , I have not a clue how that got there I don't use photoshop for my pics .... I only used auto correct on shutterfly and I would have to check but the lighting on this was so good I don't think I used it here either ... I appreciate your feedback ! Thanks Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaI really like your tilted point of view. 27 Feb 2008 9:48pm Tracey from White Hall, United StatesLove the slant of the picture! Great way to start off towards Easter! I agree with Giya that the pink on the shoulder and hair is a bit distracting. But good capture none the less! 28 Feb 2008 12:07am |
