How beautiful Rob, I really like the way the light shows the contours of her hair, face and robe. A brilliant shot.

Interesting angel on the angle. Or is that angle on the angel? :-) The warm colors of the marble background adds a nice contrast. Interior church shots are a favorite of mine so I look forward to the series.

Well my man, you have started this series off with a major photo. I can't wait for more.

BTW, speaking as a Protestant, I must say that Catholics, Anglicans, and Orthodox have a whole lot more great stuff inside to look at (and photograph). The austere Protestant Calvinist strain has sort of done away with a lot of that extra interior interest and beauty (to our visual impoverishment). Of course, there are exceptions...

@Viewfinder: Thanks view , I hope the rest of my shots live up to my opening image ... I have images from now till Easter on both of my blogs starting tommorow .

I have been in several newer Catholic Churches that have been more on the modern and duller looking side ... This Church is over 125 years old and still standing strong and has been in a couple movies and tv shows

Great shot, so i'm looking forward to the rest of the series. On my visit to Baltimore, the first thing I noticed was the amount of beautiful churches!

As others have said, I love your choice of angle and lighting. The only critical points I would make is that you could have probably used a bit more DOF here. The far eye of the statue is pretty soft focus. If your trying to soften the background focus a bit, you might try getting two exposures with a different focal point or aperture and then blending them together in Photoshop to get the entire face of the statue in focus. The only other detail is more of a question. I see little pink highlights on the hair and shoulder of the angel. Is this an image processing artifact or did it exist on the statue? It somewhat detracts from the pristine white marble.

@Giya: I see what you are saying about the pink , I have not a clue how that got there I don't use photoshop for my pics .... I only used auto correct on shutterfly and I would have to check but the lighting on this was so good I don't think I used it here either ... I appreciate your feedback ! Thanks

I really like your tilted point of view.

Love the slant of the picture! Great way to start off towards Easter! I agree with Giya that the pink on the shoulder and hair is a bit distracting. But good capture none the less!
